Nigeria first lady, Aisha Buhari has urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to respect its constitution on appointment into government agencies and institutions.
According to the wife of the president, the constitution of the party specifies that appointments to offices in an APC led government should go to card-carrying members.
Mrs Buhari's call came on the heel of clamour for a broad-based government that would encompass personalities from different political leaning and professional background.
Many Nigerians believed that President Mohammadu Buhari should enrich his cabinet with quality people and look beyond politicians so as to ensure quality performance in his second term in office.
However, the first lady has been an advocate of strict respect for party men on the choice of people to be appointed into key positions in the government.
She had once condemned the appointment of some people who she described as outsiders into key political office in the present administration.
The wife of the president spoke in Kastina at a dinner to appreciate those who work and support her husband victory at the February 23, election.

She expressed appreciation over the support that the party enjoyed in the last Presidential election, especially from women and youth and assured them that the government will do more to improve their lives.
