Nigeria's House Of Reps Making Move To Impeach VP Osinbajo

Johnson Agbonayinma, a member of Nigeria's House of Representatives from Edo State has alleged that some members ‎are collating signatures with the aim of impeaching Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
The lawmaker at a media briefing in Abuja on Tuesday said some members of the opposition party are colluding with disgruntled members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to push out the number two citizen out of office.
“Some political gladiators and media houses” were ‎sponsoring fake news against Osinbajo. “The reason is because of the NEMA investigation,” he said.
Agbonayinma, who however failed to name any of the conspirators, said many of the lawmakers who are behind the plots are not happy with the rising profile of the Vice President.
The House of Reps recently released damning reports, questioning the role of Osinbajo on funding of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the North-East.
The report indicated that the Vice President had released funds for the emergency agency without following due process and in violation of the constitution.
The report also indicted the Director-General of the agency.
