Apostle Suleman Mulls Standing As Surety For Sowore

A Nigeria clergyman and President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has indicated interest in standing as surety for Convener, #RevolutionNow and publisher of an online Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the February 2019 presidential election and founder of an online news publication Sahara Reporters, was arrested by the Department of Security Services (DSS) on August 3, 2019 for alleged treason after calling for a protest tagged #RevolutionNow
In a tweet on his verified Twitter handle @APOSTLESULEMAN on Monday, Suleman expressed concerns that though Sowore had hurt many people in the past — including Suleman himself — he is of the opinion that Sowore should not be allowed to “rot where he is.”
“In a situation like this, what will Christ do?” Suleman asked; adding, “am ‘considering’ standing bail for him.”

"Am really worried that nobody is ready to stand surety for @YeleSowore..yes he has hurt a lot of people, me inclusive. But do we focus on that and let his rot where he is even if he caused it in a situation like this what will christ do? am 'considering' standing bail for him..."

Among the bail conditions imposed on Sowore and his so-accused are that the Sahara Reporters publisher should produce two sureties with N50 million.
The court said Sowore’s sureties must deposit tax clearance certificates for three years, 2016 to 2018, and documents of landed properties in Abuja.
The sureties were also to deposit affidavit of means for their assets.
The court ruled that when released after meeting his bail conditions, Sowore should remain in Abuja till the case is determined while his co-accused.
It was not clear if Apostle Suleman has a property in Abuja and will be willing to cough out N50 million naira as bail bond for Sowore.
