Millions of users have been left frustrated as WhatsApp suffered a Europe-wide outage.
The Facebook-owned mobile phone app crashed this morning and mainly affected people in the south of England and Western Europe for around two hours.
According to DownDetector, there were problems across Europe, with isolated issues in India, Singapore, Mozambique, Vietnam, and Iraq.
Users took to Twitter to - firstly, to find out if others were experiencing the same problem - to express their frustration, with some using hilarious memes.
One user tweeted: 'WhatsApp is down. I'm cool. I'm cool' with a meme saying 'We're all gonna die.'
Arian said: 'WhatsApp is down and everybody is freaking out.'
Crazy Citizen posted: 'When other apps are working and WhatsApp isn't you restart the phone, off and on data, before coming to Twitter to confirm.'
Problems with service occurred around 8am, with 60 percent of affected customers reporting issues connecting to it.
A further 25 percent report issues receiving messages and 14 percent are struggling to log in.
Some users reported that the app was back up and running for them around 9.15am.
It is unclear what caused the service to crash, as WhatsApp and Facebook have not revealed any information on the outage.
MailOnline has today contacted WhatsApp for comment.
Last week WhatsApp hit the headlines as it introduced a new 'delete for everyone' feature, allowing users to recall an embarrassing message within seven minutes of sending it.
The feature is currently rolling out to users on Android and iOS, although it is unclear how widespread and quickly the launch will take place.
