Nigeria's consumer inflation was steady at 8 percent year-on-year in January, unchanged from the previous month, the statistics bureau said on Wednesday.
Food inflation, which is the biggest contributor to the headline index, was 9.3 percent, also unchanged from December.
Nigeria's central bank wants to keep consumer inflation between 6 and 9 percent this year and has a longer-term goal of reducing inflation to around 5 percent by the end of 2015.
